Celebrating the Season with the 16th Annual Holiday Open House
By Lee Kersey, TGT Volunteer
We were blessed with absolutely glorious weather on December 2nd and 3rd for our 16th annual Holiday Open House. The atmosphere was very festive as holiday shoppers perused the crafts, cookies, treats and gifts while sipping on some spiked apple cider! Many guests purchased beautifully lit Christmas trees and gorgeous wreaths that were decorated by our talented volunteers.
Our annual Cookie Walk was a huge success once again, bringing guests to visit for the cookies alone! This part of our event would not be possible without the hundreds of dozens of treats that are created by so many generous people!
Some experienced shoppers took advantage of the opportunity to stock up on Rita’s famous jellies and relish. We were told time and again that jars of jelly are perfect gifts for everyone from neighbors and teachers to mailmen and hair dressers.
This year’s open house was also the first time to get a sneak peak of our new retail shop “The Shop Next Door” which was fully stocked with even more of the beautiful items that our tireless volunteer crafters spent hours and weeks and months creating. We also had a very special guest as Santa himself took time out of his busy schedule to visit with the boys and girls and to listen to their Christmas wishes!
We would like to thank everyone that participated whether by stopping by to shop, spreading the word, donating treats, or giving of your time and energy to such a wonderful cause and a fun holiday tradition. And a big heart felt thank you to our many volunteers who give so much of themselves and do so with a smile in their hearts.
Best Wishes for Your Health and Happiness in 2018, and Thank You for Your Support!
