July Volunteer of the Month
The Gathering Together is pleased to announce their Volunteer of the Month Program. Honored volunteers will be featured on the website Volunteers Tab with their picture and their ‘story’. At the end of each year, the Gathering Together Board of Directors will celebrate all twelve of the year’s selected volunteers with a special gathering in their honor.
Please consider nominating your favorite volunteer for this honor. The form and submission details can be found on our website at http://thegatheringtogether.org/volunteer-of-the-month/.

TGT’s Volunteer of the Month for July: Dave Owens
Dave Owens has been selected as Volunteer of the Month for July. His nominator says, “I smile every time I look out the window and see the lush lawn that Dave attends for us. He is a humble and gentle man who makes The Gathering Together a beautiful place to be.”
Dave has volunteered for the Gathering Together since his mother was here as a guest. While visiting her, he saw a need and volunteered to mow the lawn… he has been coming back to do so every week since then rain or shine! He treats the grounds as if they were his own creating for us “the best lawn in the neighborhood”. Every time we have an event, he works hard to make sure everything looks its best. His diligence was the inspiration for installation of our sprinkling system which helps him keep the yard looking pristine.
Thankful for his efforts, we made a memorial garden for his mother in his honor featuring a red bicycle to remind him of their trip across the Golden Gate Bridge on a tandem bicycle. Friends and guests alike enjoy the fruit of his efforts. Recently a guest who found comfort sitting in the living room with a view to the gardens spoke of how uplifting it is to be able to see out to the beautiful green, green grass and flowers. What better tribute can there be then that? Thank you, Dave.
